Evening Volunteer Opportunities

Family Bagging night, the 2nd Monday of each month, starting promptly at 6:30. Help put canned goods and other food items in grocery bags for distribution to our clients.  Ideal for families with children ages 5-10 years of age.  Family Bagging Night has become very popular. Families now need to register before coming. Please email us to sign up for Family Bagging Night.

Chicken bagging, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Wednesday of each month, starting promptly at 6:30 pm and typically ending around 7:30pm. Bulk chicken is purchased at wholesale prices and is re-bagged for our clients at AFAC.  Wear your old duds and we provide aprons and gloves.

There is no bagging on a 5th Wednesday - May 30, August 29, and October 31, 2012.

Children ages 12 and older are welcome to volunteer for chicken bagging but should be closely supervised by their parents. No child under 14 can volunteer without a parent or guardian.

All minors must be picked up promptly at the end of the session.

Groups larger than three must register with the volunteer department.

Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes.

We ask that you complete a Volunteer Profile form online and bring a signed copy of the Minor Hold Harmless form for children under 18. A link to the form is found at the top of the page.

For more information, please contact one of our volunteer coordinators,
Puwen Lee, Mona Bormet, Laura Jackson or Danielle Rampton at volunteer4afac@afac.org or 703-845-8486.
